Stéphane TSAPIS learnt with the pianist Benjamin Moussay, with whom he developed his skills and his jazz knowledge. Interested in arrangement and composition, his meeting with the compositor Bernard Cavanna pushed him on that way.
 
He studied at the Paris Conservatory and then he worked as an arranger with Pierre Bertrand and played piano with Emil Spanyi. He is the leader in different bands like Kaïmaki and the Stéphane Tsapis trio, also sideman in bands like Norig, Nicolas Bauer quintet. He also worked for the theatre on “l’affaire Sumertime”, “Le Mandat”, “Pills and Pearls” and more. 
Influenced by Greek and the Balkans tunes, his work was exported in several jazz festivals and he played on many scenes all over the world.
 
He also works in the music for the image. He became award winner of composition in the International festival of Aubagne in 2012.
He worked in many movies like “The immigrant” by Charlie Chaplin in 2011 in which he signed the soundtrack and also “Promesse de Pute” in 2012, “Liberté, Egalité, Cheveux lissés” in 2014 realized by Elefteriois Zacharopoulos, “La Nuit Autour” by Benjamin Travade.
